Who We Are
Welcome to the Florence Woman's Club Website!  We are a member of the General Federation of Women's Club, the GFWC. If this is your first viewing of our site, we hope you will take a little time to learn about this dynamic group of northern Kentucky women.  We collaborate on a variety of community service projects and sponsor one major fundraiser per year. The members have become friends over the years, so our meetings are really enjoyable.  The Club generally meets the third Tuesday of the month, beginning at 12:30.  *****Our location for our meetings starting January 16, 2018, for the year of 2018, will be at the Florence Government Center Building on Ewing Blvd., lower level, Room B while the Gathering House is being remodeled. The usual meeting location has been the Evelyn Kalb Gathering House of the Florence Nature Park, located at 7200 Nature Park Dr.(off Banklick St.) Florence.
The Florence Woman’s Club is an organization that was formed in 1954. We have dedicated over 63 years of community service, benefiting numerous charities serving Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati. (Celebrated our 60th year on October 28,2014.). Club flower is the hyacinth.
We feel blessed to currently have over 30 dynamic members of all ages with a strong sense of friendship, as well as a common purpose to help those in need.
We have one large fundraiser a year, plus service projects that promote education, conservation, arts, public issues, and international outreach in the community.

President’s Message

Hello Everyone!

Please NOTE for our next meeting on Tuesday March 20th at 1:00 P.M. we will be at the Florence Branch of the Boone County Public Library, 7425 U. S. 42,  Florence, KentuckyThe library is next to the Florence Senior Center. This is a temporary location. This change is due to the Gathering House being remodeled and the Government Building's flooding issues.

It was decided that while the Gathering House is being remodeled, the location scheduled for our regular meetings, will be at the Florence Government Center Building on Ewing Blvd., lower level, Room B.  Unfortunately, the Florence Govt. Bldg. where we were expecting to have our meetings experienced recent flooding. We will not be using the Government Building until May or June of this year. Remember, both of these locations are temporary locations.

At the meetings come early to socialize.  Bring you own brown bag lunches and beverages while we are at these facilities. Parking for the Government Building which should give easiest access when we return there, will be at the Aquatic Center.

**If you haven't paid your membership dues yet, don't forget our annual fee of $30, so bring a check with you to the next meeting.

See you then and blessings to all!

Remembering 2017

March - Spring Luncheon at Triple Crown Country Club Was a Success

Our Spring Fundraiser helping the American Cancer Society at the Triple Crown Country Club in Union, KY took place on a beautiful Spring-like Tuesday.  We had approximately ninety members and guests for our event. The room radiated of Spring, friendship and getting together for a good cause....primarily benefiting the American Cancer Society. Silent auctions, live auctions, a wonderful lunch and presentations by Katherine Nero, WCPO tv and Heather Shaw, Community Manager from the American Cancer Society made our afternoon a wonderful success.

May - Florence Woman’s Club Members Attended GFWC Convention

Marlene Brown and Mary Cox accompanied FWC President Betsy Conrad to the GFWC Kentucky Annual State Convention in Lexington on Friday, May 20, 2016.  Various program reports were presented.  Awards were announced for Education, Conservation, Home Life, International Outreach, and Applause on Main Street. Awards were presented for Domestic Violence Awareness, Fundraising, Arts, etc. Florence W.C. winners were: Marlene Brown — Christmas Ornament 3rd place, Joyce McCord — Crochet 1st place, Mary Cox — Needlepoint 2nd place, Marlene Brown — Watercolor 1st place, and Jane Pfarner (BCM) won 1st place in Wearable Art!  Fifth District Governor Karen Moreland later advised that Florence Woman's Club had also won 3rd place for Advocates for Children Partnership with St. Jude, and 1st place for GFWC Advocates for Children.

June - Our Fun Picnic Lunch

The FWC Summer Picnic took place at the Florence Nature Center.  A wonderful lunch was served including Chic Fil-A Sandwiches (thanks Betsy) and side dishes provided by FWC members.  We installed our Club Officers for 2016-18 at the meeting.

December -  Christmas Luncheon at the Triple Crown

We had a great time at our Annual Christmas luncheon with about 30 ladies, held at Triple Crown Country Club.  We had several guests and one new member.  It was cozy and enjoyable with the fireplace, decorations and ambiance.  We had entertainment provided by the NKY Dulcimer Society...
